RESPONSIBILITIES

The Research Unit conducts fundamental and applied research in Information and Communication Technologies, in alignment with the responsibilities and objectives of CTI. The unit also explores the social, economic, and other impacts of digital technologies, with the goal of fostering innovation and driving digital transformation in education and other sectors of society. The Research Unit operates under the supervision of the President of CTI, to whom it reports administratively. The President coordinates its activities and may establish research teams, by decision, to carry out specific research or technological projects. These projects may involve individuals outside of CTI’s staff.

  • Design, development, and support of e-Government services for all levels of education, educational institutions, and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports.
  • Design, development, operation, and supervision of information systems serving the educational community at all levels.
  • Utilization of data from information systems and infrastructures to support decision-making in administration, educational planning, and research.
  • Scientific and technical support for integrated digital services and applications in both public and private organizations.
  • Design, development, operation, and support of large-scale central information systems to model and provide administrative support to public and private entities.
  • Application of ICT within the operational framework of administrative structures in the Central Government (Ministries, Regions, Local Authorities, etc.) and educational institutions.
  • Operation of the Organization’s Cybersecurity Operations Center and the comprehensive management and response to cybersecurity incidents involving communication networks and information systems connected to the Organization’s network.
  • Conducting security audits, evaluating protection mechanisms, providing advisory services to enhance security, and developing security policies.
  • Participation in the development and implementation of national and European measures related to network and information security, as well as involvement in national and European cyber defense exercises.
  • Designing and implementing actions to enhance and monitor security, ensuring protection for CTI, its employees and collaborators, other entities, and the general public.
