The Port Network Authority of the Ionian Sea and the Port of Patras will improve their operational efficiency by implementing Digital Twin technology. This initiative aims to create a virtual representation of port operations, enabling better analysis and decision making. Using historical data and simulation models, the project will enable stakeholders to explore different operational scenarios and assess their potential impact. This approach is expected to lead to improved performance metrics and more informed strategic planning. The benefits of the project extend beyond the individual ports. By optimising processes and improving collaboration, the initiative aims to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the region’s maritime sector. Finally, the integration of digital twin technology is expected to foster innovation, improve service delivery, and support sustainable growth in the region. The partnership is completed by the scientific partners Computer Technology Institute and Press ‘Diophantus’ and MEDISDIH S.c. ar.lcontaining guidelines for the deployment of Digital Twins solutions in the ports of the Programme area, with a modular approach that takes into account the similarities and differences among ports, depending on their different traffic characteristics, requirements and challenges.
